Dr. Tony S. Brar is a board-certified gastroenterologist who specializes in interventional endoscopy. He is originally from Tampa, Florida. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Florida, with a bachelor’s degree in biology and minor in public health. He then went on to receive his medical degree from the Florida State University College of Medicine, and subsequently completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Florida. Dr. Brar remained at the University of Florida to complete his gastroenterology fellowship, where he served as chief fellow. He decided to pursue further specialization in advanced endoscopy at the Center for Interventional Endoscopy at Advent Health in Orlando, one of the premier high-volume centers for therapeutic endoscopy in the country.

Dr. Brar is the recipient of numerous awards for both his research and academic teaching. He has also been inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, a national organization that honors physicians recognized for demonstrating excellence in clinical care, leadership, compassion, and dedication to service. His clinical interests include pancreatic and biliary disorders, therapeutic endosonography, endoscopic bariatrics, ablative therapies for Barrett’s esophagus, endoscopic therapy for reflux, luminal stenting, and third space endoscopy.

Dr. Brar joined Digestive Disease Associates in September 2022.
