Bio
Born in Miami, FL, Dr. Perbtani is a skilled gastroenterologist and advanced endoscopist focusing on minimally invasive digestive care. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Nova Southeastern University in Davie, FL, before completing his Internal Medicine Residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Florida. He then pursued an 18-month Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy Fellowship at UF, refining his expertise in procedures such as peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) and endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD).
Since joining Digestive Disease Associates in 2021, Dr. Perbtani has specialized in diagnosing and treating pancreaticobiliary diseases and advanced therapeutic endoscopy. His expertise includes diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), ERCP, endoscopic mucosal and submucosal dissection of complex polyps, the treatment of esophageal and gastric motility disorders with POEM, and the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) with transoral incisionless fundoplication (TIF).
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Perbtani has a special interest in endoscopic bariatrics, health, and nutrition. He is passionate about minimally invasive weight-loss interventions and their role in improving metabolic health and overall well-being. His approach integrates advanced endoscopic therapies with evidence-based nutritional and lifestyle strategies to help patients achieve sustainable, long-term health benefits.
Dr. Perbtani is also an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Central Florida and the Co-Director of Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy at North Florida Regional Medical Center. In addition to his clinical and teaching roles, he has published extensively in advanced endoscopy, contributing to the development of innovative techniques and improving patient care.
